Topic: Exploration for Lithium and Other Critical Minerals in Mississippi

Steve will reprise and update his January 21 presentation at the 2026 Mississippi Natural Resources Summit, hosted by the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) in Jackson. As the only industry subject-matter expert to speak at the Summit, Steve saw his presentation and recommendations become an integral part of the MDA 2026 Critical Minerals Report, published this past June.

About the speaker: Steve Walkinshaw is a consulting geologist based in Madison, Mississippi. He graduated with honors from Millsaps College in 1981 and has 45 years of experience in oil, gas, lithium and geothermal resource exploration. He is recognized as a subject-matter expert in brine-sourced lithium exploration and carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). Steve is a Licensed Professional Geologist in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, and an AAPG/DPA Certified Petroleum Geologist. He has presented and served as an invited panelist at AAPG conferences in Houston, Baton Rouge, Cartagena, Rio de Janeiro and Punta del Este, Uruguay.

Online registration is $27 ($25 + $2 card processing fee). Preferred so that we may get a head count for meals.

Lunch is $25 at the door (cash or check). If you choose a "Pay at the Door" ticket, skip the card screen by clicking the "pay by check or cash" link — your $25 is collected at the luncheon.
