***Board Meeting before Regular Meeting ***

Speaker: Patrick Sullivan, President of the Mississippi Energy Institute

Topic: Mississippi's Energy Future - Data Centers, Power Demand, and the Next Wave of Growth-Data centers are driving the largest surge in electricity demand the country has seen in decades, and Mississippi is competing hard for these projects. Patrick will break down what that build-out means for the state — where the power will come from, what it does to electrical usage and pricing for the rest of us, and what the next wave of energy investment in Mississippi looks like on the ground for those of us who work in land.

Patrick has led MEI since 2011 and concurrently serves as President of the Southeast Oil and Gas Association. He chairs the State Workforce Investment Board and the State Longitudinal Data System, and previously served Governor Haley Barbour as Policy Advisor and Executive Director of Recovery and Renewal. He holds a Master of Agribusiness Management from Mississippi State and lives in Madison.

    IMPORTANT - MEMBERSHIP VOTE:

At this meeting, the membership will vote on a proposed amendment to the Bylaws changing the Association's name from the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen to the Mississippi Association of Professional Landmen. Formal written notice of the proposed amendment has been provided to all Active Members by email. Adoption requires a three-fourths majority of the "Active Members" present, so your attendance matters.

Please register so we can get an accurate lunch count. We look forward to seeing you on September 14!
